Functionality set requirements
Use the following table to determine which product licenses (Basic and Standard) and which extension licenses (3D Analyst, Network Analyst, and Spatial Analyst) you want to be authorized for.
At the time you request or purchase deployments, you indicate which deployment licenses you want. For Standard licenses, which come in packs, you indicate which licenses you want the pack to include. When you receive the pack (the deployment license), you authorize it, which results in the generation of a license string for each product and extension you requested for that pack. You add these strings to your project to license your application for production.
The process is similar for a Basic license, except there is no fee and the deployment license has an unlimited number of deployments. You don't have to keep track of the number of Basic deployments, but you must still authorize the deployment license and add the resulting license code snippet to your project.
