IIS requirements verification

The ArcGIS Web Adaptor (IIS) requires certain Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) components. If these components are not found on IIS 7 or 7.5, the ArcGIS Web Adaptor (IIS) installation process will display a dialog box listing the missing components with the option to allow the installation process to automatically install the missing components. The ArcGIS Web Adaptor (IIS) installation will not proceed until the missing IIS components are installed.

Note:

The IIS requirements verification dialog box does not display on Windows Server 2003. To install IIS 6 on Windows Server 2003, see ArcGIS Web Adaptor (IIS) system requirements.

If you were directed to this topic by clicking Help on the IIS requirements verification dialog box, your system does not have the correct IIS components required for installation. Follow the instructions in the sections below to automatically or manually install the missing components.

Installing missing IIS components automatically

1. Review the missing IIS components in the IIS requirements verification dialog box. You may find it helpful to record the missing components for your records.
2. To automatically install the missing components, click I Agree.

The components are installed and you can continue with the setup process. See Installing the ArcGIS Web Adaptor (IIS) for details.

If you want to manually install the components, click Cancel. The ArcGIS 10.1 SP1 Web Adaptor (IIS) installation process will abort without installing the missing IIS components. Follow the instructions in the sections below to install the components.

Note:

The ArcGIS 10.1 SP1 Web Adaptor (IIS) setup will not install IIS components silently. If you are performing a silent installation, all required IIS components must be installed manually.

Installing IIS components manually

To install the required IIS components manually, see the instructions below for your specific operating system. Once all required components have been installed, launch the ArcGIS Web Adaptor (IIS) installation process again by double-clicking Setup.exe, found in the ArcGIS Web Adaptor (IIS) setup download.

Windows Server 2003

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components. Enable and install the Application Server component.

Windows Vista and Windows 7
