An overview of the Analysis toolset

The Bathymetric Analysis toolset lets you extract points sampled from a bathymetric surface managed as a raster or mosaic dataset. Extracted points are written to a feature class or ASCII file.

Tool	Description
Extract Depths	Extracts depth point features from a surface created within the Compose Surface window in ArcGIS for Maritime：Bathymetry. Depth features are points sampled from an interpolated raster surface. Point spacing of extracted depth features will be in the planar distance of the input spatial reference.
Extract Depths To ASCII	Extracts depths from a surface model stored in a BIS workspace and converts depths to an ASCII file. This model allows you to share your depths with non-Esri software packages. This model runs Extract Depths and Depths To ASCII to create an output feature class and ASCII file.
