Configuring the SCAMIN file (Maritime Charting)

The SCAMIN XML file may require configuration prior to use. The rules contained in the XML file determine the SCAMIN value that will be encoded on each S-57 object. If no rule is defined for a specific S-57 object, then no action takes place.

Steps:

1. In a browser, navigate to one of the sample SCAMIN.xml files located in the ArcGIS for Maritime: Charting installation directory:
   • For 32-bit Windows operating systems—<installation location>\Program Files\ArcGIS\MaritimeCharting\Desktop10.2.2\Common
   • For 64-bit Windows operating systems—<installation location>\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\MaritimeCharting\Desktop10.2.2\Common
2. Open the XML file either with an XML editor or Windows Notepad.
3. Modify the SCAMIN XML file according to the Radar Range method.
4. Save the file.
