Use the INSPIRE Predefined Dataset Download Service

Important:The following instruction are for ArcGIS 10.1 for INSPIRE only. For ArcGIS 10.1 SP1 for INSPIRE, the predefined dataset download ability is now available through the INSPIRE feature download service.

After creating the INSPIRE Predefined Dataset Download Service, you will want to use it. This topic discusses accessing the INSPIRE Predefined Dataset Download Service's URL, which you can then use to communicate in dataset requests.

To obtain the Predefined Dataset Download URL and test, follow the steps below.

  1. Open ArcCatalog.
  2. Click on your ArcGIS Server connection.
  3. Right-click on the Feature Download Service you created and select Service Properties…
  4. Select "ArcGIS for INSPIRE Predefined…" in the Capabilities section of the Service Editor.
  5. Click on the URL of the available dataset to download the data.
  6. Alternatively click on "Show details" button for the available dataset.
  7. Copy the URL to the right in the text box of the "Status" field.
  8. Paste the INSPIRE Predefined Dataset Download URL into the address bar of your browser and press "Enter".
  9. When the ArcGIS REST browsing page appears you can browse to the dataset in which you are interested.
  10. A complete URL of an INSPIRE Predefined Dataset Download Service dataset would look similar to the example URL below:
    http://serverName/arcgis/rest/services/serviceName/GeoDataServer/exts/InspirePredefinedDatasetDownloadService/datasets/<datasetName>/gml
