Registering an event offset from an event

In this type of reference offset event, an event table is registered and posted against the location of an event within a preregistered parent event table.

There are three event types in this event:

• Point—Located with an offset from the location of another event within a parent event table.
• Line based on length—Located with an offset, plus a length from the location of another event within a parent event table. The Offset Field becomes the From Offset Field with line events.
• Line based on From event and To event locations—Located with offsets between a From event and a To event within a parent event.

Reference offset from a point event:

Routes increase in calibration from left to right.

步骤:

1. Start ArcMap and open the Catalog window or start ArcCatalog.
2. In the Catalog tree, connect to the geodatabase that contains the advanced linear referencing system (ALRS) and LRS Network for which you want to add event layers.
3. Expand the ALRS that contains the LRS Network for which you want to add event layers.
4. Right-click the LRS Network and click New > LRS Event.

   

   The ALRS Event Setup wizard appears.

5. Click Next.
6. Choose Offset from an Event.

7. Click Next.

   The General event properties page of the wizard appears.
8. Type a name for your event layer in the Event Name text box.
9. Verify that the parent network is set to the correct network.
10. Click the browse button next to the Event Table text box.

    The Browse Data dialog box appears.

    注:

    When adding local events to an SDE geodatabase, the event table must be registered as versioned.

11. Browse to the business table for which you want to create an event layer and click Select.

    If the table you browse to is in the same geodatabase as your LRS Network, you will create a local event. If the table you browse to is outside of the geodatabase, you will create an external event.

    The Generate event properties dialog box is populated with information from the event table.
12. Verify and update the rest of the information on the General event properties dialog box as needed.
    1. Set the Event ID Field that identifies the events.
    2. Set the Route ID Field that contains information about the route with which the event is associated.
    3. Set the From Date Field that stores the start date of the event being active.
    4. Set the To Date Field that stores the end date of the event after which it is retired.
    5. Set the Time zone for storing the date and time.
13. Click Next to set the event reference offset properties.
    1. Click the Parent Event Properties Event Table drop-down arrow and choose the event table.
    2. Click the Parent Event Properties Reference ID Field drop-down arrow and choose the reference ID field.
    3. Click the Offset Event Properties Reference ID Field drop-down arrow and choose the reference ID field for offset events.
    4. Click the Offset Event Properties Offset Units drop-down arrow and choose the units of measure for the offset.
    5. Choose the event type.

       By default, the event type is set to Point.

    6. Click the Event type Offset Field drop-down arrow and choose the offset field for the event.

       • For points, you need to define the Offset Field value.
       • For lines (based on Length), you need to define the From Offset Field and Length Field values.
       • For lines (based on From Event and To Event locations), you need to define the From Offset Field, To ID Field (Reference ID), and To Offset Field values.

14. Click Finish.
