What is a configuration?

A configuration is a set of components that are configured on a GeoEvent Processor. The entire configuration of GeoEvent Processor can be quickly and easily exported, allowing you to easily replicate the configuration of GeoEvent Processor from one machine to another. You can also import GeoEvent Processor configurations that have been prebuilt by others for use in specific industries and workflows. Configurations are saved as XML files and can be imported and exported using GeoEvent Processor Manager's Configuration Store. You can use these configurations to archive, restore, and share your configurations.Use GeoEvent Processor Manager to import and export GeoEvent Processor configurations.

When importing and exporting configurations, it is important to note that all of these components are being exported and imported. These components are uniquely identified by name within GeoEvent Processor. If a configuration is imported that contains a component that already exists on the system (with the same name), then that component will be overwritten.

When uninstalling GeoEvent Processor, your configurations are not removed and will be available to you in a new product installation. However, it is still recommended you export configurations prior to uninstalling.

Importing a configuration

Configurations can be imported from the Site > GeoEvent Processor > Configuration Store page in GeoEvent Processor Manager. Click Import Configuration to browse and select a configuration file for import.

Exporting a configuration

The current configuration of GeoEvent Processor can be exported at any time from the Site > GeoEvent Processor > Configuration Store page in GeoEvent Processor Manager. Click Export Configuration to save a configuration of GeoEvent Processor to a file. The exported configuration file can then be imported on another GeoEvent Processor, allowing you to easily replicate the configuration.
