Converting vertices to point features (Aviation)

The Production Vertices To Points tool allows you to create point features at the vertices of selected features and write the new points to the active template's layer.

For example, your map may contain power line features from which you need to derive electrical pole features. You can use this tool to create a point at every vertex of the power line to get an accurate representation of electrical poles.

步骤:
  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. If necessary, load data in the map.
  3. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Editing.
  4. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Editing Advanced.
  5. Click the Production Start Editing button Production Start Editing on the Production Editing toolbar.
    注注:

The Manage Features and Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes windows automatically appear when you start an edit session using the Production Start Editing tool.

    提示提示:

If the Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes window does not appear when you start an edit session, click the Show/Hide Attributes button Show/Hide Attributes on the Manage Features window.

  6. Choose a point template on the Create tab on the Manage Features window.
  7. Click the Select Features By Rectangle button 选择要素 and select at least one linear or polygon feature.
  8. Click the Production Vertices To Points button Production Vertices To Points on the Production Editing Advanced toolbar.

A point feature is created at each vertex of the selected feature. The new points are written to the target layer of the active template.
