Import Territory Design Solution

Import Territory Design Solution converts, or updates, territory solutions from older demographic datasets to new datasets. This command can be used, more broadly, for changing any alignment layer. For example, you can create a territory solution with territories based on a ZIP Code layer and convert the solution with all settings to a new solution based on a more detailed or less detailed alignment layer, like block groups or counties. Alignment layers can have different projections.

The new territory solution will have nearly all the settings of the source solution. The following items will not be copied from the source solution:

If the source solution has imported variables, they will be imported to the new solution. If you don't want to import territories, click Cancel during the import process.

This tool uses shapes of territories from the source territory solution to find child features on the new alignment layer. The new alignment layer feature will be assigned to a territory if it is at least 50 percent intersected with the territory. If the feature intersected with number of territories and summary intersection is at least 50 percent, the feature will be assigned to a territory with the maximum intersection.
