Hiding invisible representations and annotation (Defense Mapping)
When you are preparing your map for cartographic production, it can be helpful to hide invisible representations and unplaced annotation so they are not visible in the digital or hard-copy version of a map or chart. The Hide Invisible Representation And Annotation tool hides the representations and annotation for selected features or multiple layers in the map document. This allows you to continue working with the cartographic appearance of the map or chart without seeing the gray symbols that usually represent invisible representations or unplaced annotation.
This tool hides representations by disabling the Draw invisible representations property on the Display Options dialog box. Annotation is hidden by disabling the Draw unplaced annotation option on the Symbology tab on the Layer Properties dialog box. See Placing unplaced annotation features for information on creating annotation and Working with feature class representations for information on displaying invisible representations.
- Start ArcMap.
- On the main menu, click Customize → Toolbars → Production Cartography Editing.
- Open a map that contains invisible representations and unplaced annotation.
- Select one or more layers in the table of contents for which to show invisible representations and unplaced annotation.注意:
This tool only works on layers in the current active data frame.
- Click the Hide Invisible Representation And Annotation button on the Production Cartography Editing toolbar.
The invisible representations and unplaced annotation disappear in the map.
If you have no layers selected in the table of contents or use the List By Source, List By Visibility, or List By Selection views of the table of contents, the tool hides all the invisible representations and unplaced annotation for all the layers in the map.
