What's new in the product library for Esri Production Mapping (Production Mapping)
Several enhancements have been made to the latest relase of Esri Production Mapping.
New at 10.2.1
The Copy As Path command and GetInstallInfo function in the ArcPyProduction site package have been added.
- Copy As Path—A command in the Product Library window that allows you to copy the path of any level in the Product Library tree view to paste it in a geoprocessing tool that contains a product library path parameter.
- GetInstallInfo—An ArcPyProduction function that gets the installation information for the current version of the Esri Mapping and Charting Solutions software installed on a particular machine.

Supported extensions
You can now define which extensions are supported by the product library and production database. This means that you can choose the schema for the product library and production database so that you can create and maintain only certain types of data or products. For example, you may have both ArcGIS for Aviation:Charting and ArcGIS for Maritime: Charting installed in your machine, but you may only want to have the schema for ArcGIS for Aviation:Charting. You can do this with the following functionality in the Product Library window:
- Select Product Library—You can choose which extensions are supported when you are creating the product library schema for the first time.
- Create Production Database—You can choose which extensions are supported when you are creating the production database schema for the first time.
- Remove Extensions—You can remove a schema of a Mapping and Charting solution you have installed if you don't need it for an existing product library or production database.
When you upgrade an existing product library or production database, you don't have the option to choose which extensions it supports; once it is upgraded, the Product Library window will display any extensions that are installed but not supported by the product library or production database.
When you distribute a product library, the target and source need to support the same extensions.
Properties for the product library
The Remove AOI and Advanced View commands in the Product Library window were disabled, and two properties were added to the Production Properties and Product Library Properties dialog boxes, where you can enable them if necessary.
Product library integration with ArcGIS Workflow Manager for Desktop
The Sync Product Files custom step was added to synchronize product files and the job. It can be configured to copy files from job attachments to the product or vice versa.
Renamed tables
Tables in the product library and production database schema have been renamed with PL_ and PD_, respectively, to facilitate the distinction with other tables.
Geoprocessing
The following python scripts were added to the Product Library toolset:
- Check Out File As File—The output is a file that can be used as the input for another geoprocessing tool with file inputs.
- Check Out File As Database—The output is a workspace that can be used as the input for another geoprocessing tool with database or workspace inputs.
