Job management activities

Creating jobs

The Create Job button Create New Job(s) allows you to create jobs within the Workflow Manager database. The Create Jobs dialog box provides functionality to create multiple jobs of the same type as well as set default properties, such as assignment, start and due dates, parent version, priority, and job description. When these properties are set, jobs will automatically contain these attributes when they are created.

On the Advanced Options dialog box, you have the ability to set the number of jobs to create, define areas of interest, and add attachments as part of the create job function.

See the Creating jobs topic for more information.

Closing jobs

The Close Job button Close Job will close a job at any time during the life of a job. Until all steps are marked as done, the Close Job button will not be enabled when that job is selected.

注意注意:

Once you have closed a job, it is not possible to reopen it. You can create a copy of the job by using the Clone Job tool accessed from File New.

Finding jobs

The Find Job button Find Jobs In The Database allows you to search for a job by ID, name, or description. See the Finding job topic in the Jobs View book for more information about the Find Jobs dialog box.

Displaying child jobs

The Show Child Jobs button Show Child Jobs will locate all jobs marked with a parent version, for the job selected in the list. The parent version is specified on the Job Properties tab in the lower tabbed section of Workflow Manager. Parent and child job relationships are manually specified and their use is defined by you.

Update Users Profile

The Update Current User's Profile button Update Current User'sProfile allows you to update details of the current user.

手順:
  1. Click the Update the Current User's Profile button Update Current User's Profile

Deleting the job map

If the jobs' .mxds are not something that you require access to once a job is closed or you are finished working, you might want to remove them from the database.

手順:
  1. Select the jobs whose .mxds you want to delete.
  2. Right-click in the job results list view and click Delete Job Map.

    A confirmation dialog box appears.

A confirmation message is displayed once export is complete.

  4. Click OK.

Reopen closed jobs

A job can be set back to active state. This allows you to maintain the historical information and other properties of the job that you cannot accomplish by cloning a job. The ability to reopen a job is controlled by a Workflow Manager privilege—CanReopenClosedJobs. Like any other privilege, this permission should be granted to select users in your organization who should open a closed job.

手順:
  1. Select the job that you want to reopen.

The job must be currently closed and you must have the CanReopenClosedJobs privilege.

  2. Right-click in the job list view and click Re-open Closed Job.
  3. The job is reactivated and you can now start to interact with the job.

A completed workflow on a closed job cannot be reexecuted until you use the re-create workflow tool.

Re-create workflow

The job workflow can be updated with the latest job type's workflow after it has been created. When a job is created, the system makes a copy of the workflow that is used on the job. Changes made to the original workflow template are not automatically reflected on existing jobs. You can update the workflow for existing jobs as desired.

手順:
  1. Select the jobs that you want to update from the list view.
  2. Right-click in the job results list view and click Recreate Workflow

A dialog box appears for you to confirm re-creating the workflow.

  3. Click Yes.
