Upgrading the ALRS
Esri Roads and Highways provides the functionality to upgrade an advanced linear referencing system (ALRS) created in a release of Esri Roads and Highways earlier than 10.2. It converts LRS Networks and registered internal events into feature classes whose shape is derived from centerlines and a centerline sequence table.
Upgrading an ALRS from a Roads and Highways database
An ALRS created using a release of Esri Roads and Highways earlier than 10.2 must be upgraded. If you haven't upgraded the ALRS to 10.2, you will be prompted to upgrade the ALRS as you add LRS Networks to your ArcMap table of contents.
To upgrade the ALRS, right-click ALRS in ArcCatalog or the Catalog window in ArcMap and click Upgrade ALRS.
This operation will:
- Convert dynamic LRS Networks created in Roads and Highways 10.0 Service Pack 3 into polyline MZ-enabled route feature classes.
- Convert Roads and Highways-registered internal events created in a version earlier than 10.2 into point or polyline MZ event feature classes.
