Creating a desktop S-57 product by importing an existing cell (Maritime Charting)

With ArcGIS for Maritime : Création de diagrammes, all S-57 products are created through the New Nautical Product wizard. This wizard is accessed from the series level in the Product Library tree view and can be used by those with Administrator, Edit, or Check In/Check Out product library permissions.

Accessing the wizard

When you first open the New Nautical Product wizard, the Overview dialog box displays a description of all the processes you will encounter.

Etapes :
  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. If necessary, open the Product Library window by clicking Customize > Production > Product Library on the main menu.

  3. If necessary, expand Product Library and Products.
  4. Right-click the series for which you want to create a product and click New Nautical Product.

  6. Review the content in the Overview area.
  7. Cliquez sur Suivant.

Defining the creation method

You need to select the product's creation method. You can choose between compiling new data or importing an existing cell.

Etapes :
  1. Click Import Existing Cell.

  2. Click the ellipsis button (...) and browse to the location where your S-57 cell is stored.
  3. Cliquez sur OK.
  4. Cliquez sur Suivant.

Reviewing the summary

The summary shows the S-57 cell's header information stored within the metadata table.

Etapes :
  1. Review the summary.
  2. If necessary, click Back to go back to the creation method and make any corrections.
  3. Click Finish.

    A progress dialog box appears with the status of the creation process.

  4. Click OK when the process completes.

Once your S-57 product is created, it is checked in to the product library, and you need to check it out to begin working on it.
