Conflict resolution (Maritime Charting)
When you check a product back into the product library, there can be occasions where there are conflicts between the properties of the map document being checked in and the values stored in the product library for the product's instance and area of interest properties.
Conflicts will occur if the following values are different:
- Rotation property of the data frame and instance
- Coordinate system of the data frame and spatial reference property of the instance
- Map scale of the data frame and area of interest
- Reference scale of the data frame and area of interest
You can resolve the conflicts by using one of the three options available:
- Update map with Product Library properties—Updates the map document's data frame properties using the values stored in the product library's instance and area of interest. Changes made to the document's data frame rotation, spatial reference, map scale, or reference scale will be replaced with the values in the product library. All other map document settings and properties are maintained.
- Update Product Library with map properties—The product library is updated with the changes made to the map document. The values stored in the product library's instance and area of interest properties, rotation, spatial reference, map scale, and reference scale will be replaced with values in the map document. All other product library properties are maintained.
- Leave conflicts unresolved—The map document and the product library maintain different property values for the rotation, spatial reference, map scale, and reference scale. The Resolve Conflicts dialog box will appear each time a product map document is checked in and ask you to resolve the differences.
