Adding a stipple element (Aviation)

The Add Stipple tool allows you to add a stipple element to the instrument approach profile view based on the symbol properties set on the Instrument Approach Profile Settings dialog box. The stipple element appears on Area Navigation Global Positioning System (RNAV GPS) procedures and is used to indicate that the visual segment below the minimum descent altitude (MDA) is clear of obstacles on a 34:1 slope. A nonshaded stipple indicates that the 34:1 slope area is not clear of obstacles.

The Add Stipple tool adds the stipple element that is connected from the 16° angle to the nearest top point of the runway element. The stipple element moves with the runway if the runway is moved.

RemarqueRemarque :

Only one stipple element can be added to the instrument approach profile view. If there is already an existing stipple element, you will need to delete it before adding a new one.

Etapes :
  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. On the main menu, click View > Layout View.
  3. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Aviation Profile Edit.
  4. Click to select a runway in the map.

The Add Stipple tool is enabled.

  5. Click the Add Stipple button Add Stipple on the Aviation Profile Edit toolbar.

The stipple element is added to the instrument approach profile view.

RemarqueRemarque :

The default stipple element size cannot be edited.
