Populating the GUID field (Production Mapping)

The Populate GUID tool checks the values in the specified global unique identifier (GUID) field for the feature classes in the table of contents. If the GUID field is not populated with a GUID, or the value is not unique, the tool populates the field correctly.

This tool is used when data has been collected using a program other than ArcGIS or to ensure that all your GUIDs are valid. By default, the tool validates any field named GFID. You can add additional fields to be validated by clicking Production Editing > Editing Properties on the Production Editing toolbar.

Etapes :
  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. If necessary, load data in the map.
  3. Add the Populate GUID tool by doing the following:
    1. Click Customize > Customize Mode on the main menu.

      The Customize dialog box appears.

    2. Click the Commands tab.
    3. In the Categories list, click Production Editing.
    4. Click and drag Populate GUID to a toolbar.
    5. Cliquez sur Fermer.
  4. Click Populate GUID.

Progress information appears in the status bar at the bottom of ArcMap. When the process is finished, a message box appears that indicates how many GUIDs have been updated.

  5. Cliquez sur OK.
