What's new in ArcGIS Data Reviewer
With this version of ArcGIS Data Reviewer for Desktop extension, there are several new tools and enhancements to the software including changes to the toolbar and user interfaces. In addition, the previous 20,000 record limit has been removed and all records in a session can now be accessed in the Reviewer Table window.
Checks and batch jobs
- Multiple checks can be deleted from a batch job at once.
- There is a new parameter in the Geometry on Geometry check that allows you to merge features from feature class 2 and find features that have a spatial relationship with the unioned features.
- The Intersection on Geometry check has been modified to find features from feature class 1 that intersect features from feature classes 2 and 3.
- The Upgrade 9.2 Reviewer Batch Jobs command has been deprecated.
- Operators on the evaluation checks have been renamed to clarify their meaning:

- The Spatial Relation Check, Tolerance, and Attributes areas have been reordered on the Geometry on Geometry Check Properties dialog box for usability. The Spatial Relation Check and Tolerance areas are now immediately after the feature classes. This allows you to define the spatial relationship before deciding which attributes to compare, if any.Geometry on Geometry Check Properties at 10.1Geometry on Geometry Check Properties at 10.0
Data inspection tools
- You can now expand and collapse feature layers in the Total Feature Count window.
- When feature classes are expanded in the Total Feature Count window, different columns are included in the output CSV file; the CSV includes the feature count by subtype. When they are collapsed, the file includes the feature count only at the feature class level.
Geoprocessing
At 10.1, several new geoprocessing tools have been introduced and enhanced:
- The Create Reviewer Session tool replaces the Create Reviewer Session geoprocessing script that existed at 10.0 and previous versions of Data Reviewer. Similar to the script, the geoprocessing tool allows you to create new Reviewer sessions in an existing Reviewer workspace. As a tool, it has been enhanced so it can also be integrated into a model.
- The Execute Batch Job tool replaces the Execute Reviewer Batch Job geoprocessing script that existed at 10.0 and previous versions of Data Reviewer. Similar to the script, this geoprocessing tool can be used to run a batch job against a workspace. As a tool, it has been enhanced so it can also be integrated into a model for further analysis.
- The parameters have been reordered in the Write To Reviewer Table geoprocessing tool. The new Review Status parameter was added to the Write to Reviewer Table GP tool. The Review Status parameter will populate the REVIEWSTATUS field in the Reviewer table.
