Authorizing the software

Esri Mapping and Charting solutions use your current ArcGIS license system and require authorization to be activated. You need to add the individual Esri Mapping and Charting solutions features to the Esri license manager. Once your license manager has been updated, you can activate the features through the Extensions dialog box in ArcGIS for Desktop. For example, if you have purchased Esri Defense Mapping, the Defense Mapping, Production Mapping, Extension ArcGIS Data Reviewer for Desktop, and Extension ArcGIS Workflow Manager for Desktop features would need to be added to the license manager.

All Esri Mapping and Charting solutions support single-use and concurrent licenses; however, the license types must match across products. For instance, you cannot authorize ArcGIS for Desktop with a concurrent license and Esri Production Mapping with a single-use license.
