Coordinate format setting
When viewing the current GPS coordinate information on your field device, you can change the coordinate display formats. 10 formats such as WGS84 DD, Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM), and United States National Grid (USNG) are available for your choice.
The coordinate format setting is application-wise and applies to all projects.
Changing coordinate format settings in a Windows Mobile device
- Run the ArcGIS application on your Windows Mobile device and open a mobile project.
- On the Task List page, tap Menu > Settings > Coordinate.
- Tap the applicable coordinate display format and tap OK.
Once you change the coordinate format setting, it will be effective in the following components:
- GPS Info bar
- View Attributes page for point features
- Additional position display on GPS Status page
- Info bar showing the sketched destination for waypoint navigation
- Waypoint navigation page

Changing coordinate format settings in a Windows device
- Run the ArcGIS application on your Windows device.
- Tap the upper left menu button and tap View and Manage Settings.
- On the View and Manage Settings page, tap Coordinate Format Setting.
- The Coordinate Format Setting page appears. As shown in the image below, under the text Coordinate Display Format you can see the current coordinate format on a button control:
- Tap the button to view the Coordinate Format Option page and tap to select a coordinate display format.
- The Coordinate Format Setting page appears again with the newly selected display format. Tap Ok to return to the View and Manage Settings page.
Once you have set a coordinate display format, it will be used to format the GPS coordinate information that displays on the map view. To view the GPS information on the map view, tap the Forward Arrow button on the right , then tap Show GPS Info. The formatted coordinates with other GPS information displays on the info bar at the bottom of the screen:
