Configuring Mobile Project Center application settings

The Mobile Project Center (MPC) provides a set of application settings you can edit to best fit your work habits. You access the settings, described below, by clicking File > Settings in the main menu.

The settings are organized into four categories: General, Content Sharing, ArcGIS Server, and Basemap Catalogs.

General

The General tab contains the settings about personal preferences. The settings cover clearing services/projects history, Local Project Directory, and RSS feed.

The History settings include the abilities to:

The Local Project Directory allows you to switch the location to which mobile projects are saved. The RSS feed text box lets you switch to a personalized feed.

Content sharing

The Content Sharing tab stores the credentials for ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Server network and token credentials that you use to log in when sharing a mobile project. These settings allow MPC to remember the accounts you use to access different project storage sites as long as the application remains open. If you check the Remember Me check box, MPC is able to remember and apply the credential even you restart the application. When you uncheck the Remember Me check box, the stored credentials will be deleted after you close the application.

TipTip:

If you enter the uniform resource locator (URL) of your Portal for ArcGIS, it will always be remembered unless you delete it from the text box.

ArcGIS Server

The ArcGIS Server tab allows MPC to store the network and token credentials when you add mobile map services from ArcGIS Server to your project as operational map layers. As with the Content Sharing tab, the credentials are stored temporarily until the application is closed, and if you check the Remember Me check box, the application always remembers the credentials. If you uncheck the Remember Me check box, the stored credentials will be deleted after you close the application.

Basemap catalogs

The Basemap Catalog tab allows you to add or remove existing basemap catalogs, virtual locations where you define folders of tiled datasets, or StreetMap for Windows Mobile to be added to mobile projects.

To know more about a basemap catalog, see Adding offline basemaps.
