Configuring map layer properties
Once you've added operational map layers to your project, you can configure properties for each layer to make it behave the way you want. These properties include:
- Purpose of the layer
- Visibility
- Whether the layer is searchable
- Whether updates of the layer can be downloaded (only applicable for service-based operational layers)
- Whether attachment support is enabled (if applicable)
Steps to configure map layer properties
Steps:
- Follow the steps in How to add operational map layers to add a mobile service or mobile cache to your project within Mobile Project Center (MPC).
- Click the down arrow next to the mobile service or cache name to expand the full list of operational map layers.
- Click the name of the layer you want to configure.
The Layer tab becomes visible on the right panel.
- Click the Layer tab and set the purpose of the current layer by choosing from the This layer list. (If any of the following option is missing, it indicates that the operational layer's schema does not fulfil the requirements of that layer purpose. For details about the requirement to the schema, see Operational layer properties).
- Optionally, set additional properties for the layer depending on the capability of the layer and the purpose it serves (searchable, download updates from server, and attachment support). Read the more information text for more details on each option.
To change the visibility property of any non-hidden layer, check/uncheck the check box next to the name of the map layer. Note that the layer visibility property can be reset in field applications.
Note:You cannot change the visibility for a hidden layer.
