Routing setting

The routing setting provided by the ArcGIS application running on a Windows device allows you to specify a streetmap dataset used by the route task. The streetmap dataset contains street network data that generates routes to map features or to locations you define on-the-fly. You can also specify a tolerance setting for the application to calculate routes.

NoteNote:

The routing setting is project specific; therefore, you will not see the routing setting if your project administrator did not include the route task in your project.

Follow the steps below to set a streetmap dataset for routing.

Steps:
  1. Start the ArcGIS application on Windows.
  2. Tap the upper left menu button, Upper left menu button and tap View and Manage Settings.
  3. Tap Routing Setting.
  4. To specify the streetmap dataset:
    • In the text box under the text Streetmap Dataset Path, enter the path of the dataset to use.
    • You can also click the Browse button to locate the dataset's folder.
  5. Click OK to save the setting. To learn how to use the streetmap dataset for routing, read Route task.
