Database requirements/limitations
- ArcGIS 10.2.x does not work with NPS 7.0.3.
- ArcGIS 10.2.1 (and above) will work with NPS 7.0.4 (P1) / INZA 3.0 (and above).
- See Setting up a connection to Netezza for important information about configuring ODBC for Netezza.
- Required add-ons for Netezza 6.0: Netezza Spatial Package version 1.1.2 or higher.
- Geodatabase functionality cannot be enabled in a Netezza database.
- If using the legacy Netezza Spatial Package, all spatial columns must be named, or aliased, to SHAPE for ArcGIS to recognize it as a spatial column in the table.
- Feature services are not supported with Netezza.
- Any geoprocessing operation that writes information to the database requires the generation of unique ObjectID values. Netezza does not generate ObjectIDs; therefore, any tool that writes data to the database is not supported with Netezza.
- *For further information about Netezza, visit http://www-01.ibm.com/software/data/netezza/.
Software required to connect to a DBMS
Your client machine (for example, the one running ArcMap) will need to have the appropriate client files installed for the RDBMS you are using. These client files are available from their respective RDBMS vendors, but they are also available on Esri Customer Care Portal as a convenience. See Database clients for more information. RDBMS client files available from the customer care portal are IBM DB2, IBM Informix, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL. Client files for IBM Netezza, Oracle and Teradata are not available on the customer care portal and must be obtained from the IBM, Oracle and Teradata support sites.
