Layer transparency

The ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight allows you to configure the transparency of each layer in the map. This allows you to see more or less of certain layers, so you can emphasize specific data. Transparency can be configured for all layers, regardless of the layer's data source, including the basemap.

Adjust transparency

You can adjust a layer's transparency as shown in the following steps:

  1. Open the Configure Layers panel.
  2. Select the desired layer:
    Selected layer
  3. Right-click the layer and click Configure. Alternatively, click the Configure button at the bottom of the Configure Layers panel:
    Configure layer
  4. On the Configuring panel that appears, expand the Transparency group. The transparency slider appears:
    Transparency slider
  5. Move the slider left or right to change the layer's transparency. Moving the slider bar to the left makes the layer more opaque; moving it to the right makes the layer more transparent.
