Standard installation

Minimum requirements:

• .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 or 4.0 runtime
• Static Content
• ASP.NET
• IIS Management Console

For additional information on installing the ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight on specific operating systems, see System requirements.

Included files

ArcGISSilverlightViewer3_0_x64.exe—The installation program for the ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight 3.0 on 64-bit operating systems.

ArcGISSilverlightViewer3_0_x86.exe—The installation program for the ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight 3.0 on 32-bit operating systems.

ArcGISExtensibility3_0_x86.exe—The installation program for the ArcGIS Extensibility SDK for Silverlight features including an integrated Visual Studio template. This component is not required unless you want to extend the ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight.

Install the ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight

1. Double-click the appropriate installation program (x86 or x64) to begin the installation. The Welcome page of the Install dialog box appears. Click Next to continue.
2. Read the End User License Agreement (EULA). If you agree to the EULA, check the I accept the license agreement check box and click Next.
3. The Prerequisite Check area verifies that your operating system contains the necessary requirements.
4. Type a name in the Name field and select a website from the Web Site drop-down list, or accept the defaults in the Application Builder and Deployed Viewer Applications installation directories and websites, then click Next.
5. The setup program is now ready to install the ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight. Click Install to continue.

Install the ArcGIS Extensibility SDK for Silverlight

You only need to install the ArcGIS Extensibility SDK for Silverlight if you want to develop custom functionality by creating add-ins (for more information, see Extending the ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight). You do not need to install the software development kit (SDK) to configure a Viewer application through the Application Builder.

1. Double-click the ArcGISExtensibility.exe to begin the installation. The Welcome page of the Install dialog box appears. Click Next to continue.
2. Read the End User License Agreement (EULA). If you agree to the EULA, check the I accept the terms in the License Agreement check box and click Next.
3. Specify the folder in which to install the ArcGIS Extensibility features.
4. Check the Install ArcGIS API for Silverlight check box and click Install.

Note:

If you are installing on Windows XP 32-bit (x86), note that there are instances where the ASPNET permissions are not set properly and can cause write issues for the Application Builder. For more information, see the Frequently Asked Question (FAQ), Cannot Edit, Copy, or Delete site on Home page.
