What's new in 10.1

Summary
This topic outlines the updates to the Web Application Developer Framework (ADF) included in ArcGIS 10.1 to enhance and streamline the usability and performance of the product.

Local (DCOM) connections are only supported for ArcGIS for Server versions prior to 10.1
The Web ADF includes a number of components and libraries capable of working with ArcGIS for Server via local (DCOM) connections.  ArcGIS for Server 10.1 no longer supports local connections. As a result, these components can only be used with ArcGIS for Server versions prior to 10.1. This information is available in the deprecation plan for ArcGIS 10 and 10.1. 
Integration with Visual Studio 2010 only
Integration of Web ADF components is only supported for Visual Studio 2010. Samples will only include Visual Studio 2010 solutions.
