Remarks

A Toolbar may have multiple tools, such as zoom in, pan and identify. Of all the tools on a toolbar, only one can be active at a given time, so that the map or page layout knows which tool to apply when the user clicks on the map or page layout. The CurrentTool property contains the ID of the tool to apply to the map or page layout.

Multiple toolbars may be buddied to the same map or page layout, by have the same Group setting (see also Toolbar.FindToolbarGroupsBuddiedTo). When the user sets the CurrentTool for a toolbar in a group, the CurrentTool setting for all the other toolbars in the group are cleared. Hence CurrentTool may be empty if a tool on another toolbar in the group has been selected.
