License level capabilities
Use the following table to determine which product licenses (Basic or Standard) and which extension licenses (3D Analyst, Network Analyst, or Spatial Analyst) you need for your application.
At the time you purchase Standard deployments, which come in packs, you indicate which deployment licenses you require. You will receive a license string for the Standard license and a license string for each extension you requested for that pack. Before you deploy, you add the license strings to your project, as described in Licensing your application.
To get deployments:
- Basic deployments are free to deploy and do not require you to set a license string in the API, although Basic license strings from the previous release can still be used and will still be validated by the ArcGIS Runtime.
- License strings for Standard or Extension deployment licenses that you have already purchased are available at Esri Customer Service or, if you're located outside the United States, from your local Esri distributor.
To purchase Standard or Extension licenses, contact your Esri representative or call Esri Sales directly at 800-447-9778 (U.S. only). If you're located outside the United States, contact your local Esri distributor.

- As a developer, you have access to all ArcGIS Runtime SDK functionality, including the extensions. When determining what licenses you need, you only need to consider your deployments.
- For descriptions of optional runtime components, see Runtime functionality options described.
- Web-server-based deployment (Internet-based deployment) using ArcGIS Runtime is not permitted. Deploying ArcGIS Runtime as a Windows service is not supported nor permitted under the ESRI Master License Agreement (MLA). ArcGIS for Server offers solutions for Internet or intranet deployments.
