ArcGIS for Server quick start guide
Getting started
- Prior to installation, review the Administer ArcGIS page for information on system requirements, installation guides and implementation for ArcGIS for Server and its components.
- Administrative privileges are required for installing this ArcGIS software product.
- On Windows, the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 is required for installing ArcGIS for Server's .NET Extension Support feature. The Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 setup can be downloaded from Microsoft. On Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2, the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 must be installed using Windows Features. See the install guide for more information.
- The ArcGIS Web Adaptor for IIS also requires Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, 4.0 or 4.5. The Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 and 4.5 setups can be downloaded from Microsoft.
- IMPORTANT: Software patches are required before using ArcGIS 10.2.2. Patch details and downloads are available here.
Upgrading to ArcGIS 10.2.2
- The ArcGIS 10.2.2 setup package is designed to detect and upgrade an existing installation of the same ArcGIS 10.1 (including Service Pack 1 [SP1]), 10.2 or 10.2.1 product. The settings for the installation location and authorization information are retained in the upgrade. See the installation guide for more information on installation upgrades, new installations, or installations over versions previous to 10.1.
- Existing ArcGIS 10.1 – 10.2 authorization numbers will work with ArcGIS 10.2.2.
Obtaining software authorization numbers
If needed, your account's primary maintenance contact can obtain authorization numbers from the Customer Care website; click Authorization & Provisioning, and click a product name to obtain its authorization number. The license version on authorizations eligible for use with ArcGIS 10.2.2 will display as 10.1 – 10.2 on the Authorizations & Provisioning portal. Customers in the United States need to contact Esri Telesales to order a Named User License of Portal for ArcGIS. For those oustide the United States, contact your local distributor for information about your authorization numbers.
