Upgrading an existing ArcGIS Web Adaptor to 10.2

The ArcGIS 10.2 Web Adaptor Linux setup package is capable of upgrading a 10.1 or 10.1 SP1 Web Adaptor already installed on your Linux system. The Web Adaptor's version must always match the version of its registered portal.

Before upgrading, keep in mind that the Web Adaptor cannot be configured with your portal if it is deployed on a website running on ports other than 80 and 443. If your Web Adaptor is not currently running on these ports, you'll need to redeploy the arcgis.war file to your Java application server on a website running on port 80. For instructions on how to deploy a .war file, please refer to the documentation for your Java application server. After you redeploy the Web Adaptor, you can then upgrade it to 10.2.

1. From the command prompt, launch the ArcGIS 10.2 Web Adaptor setup script as the same user who was used to install the existing 10.1 or 10.1 SP1 Web Adaptor, for example, <CD ROOT or untar directory>/Setup.
   Tip:

   To launch the setup script from the ArcGIS 10.2 Web Adaptor setup media, click the setup script and select the Run in Terminal button.

2. The setup will detect your existing 10.1 or 10.1 SP1 Web Adaptor on the target machine and prompts you to decide if you want to continue or exit the upgrade. For example:

3. Type y and press ENTER to accept the detected settings and continue with the update.
   Note:

   Wait while Web Adaptor is upgraded to 10.2. This may take several minutes.

4. After the upgrade has completed, you will need to reregister the Web Adaptor with your ArcGIS Server site. If multiple Web Adaptors were upgraded, each Web Adaptor must be individually reregistered with your site. For full instructions, see Configuring the ArcGIS Web Adaptor.

After the upgrade is complete, you'll need to Configure the ArcGIS Web Adaptor for use with Portal for ArcGIS.
