Using an extent indicator to display the selected area of interest

10.2.1 is the final release in which MPS-Atlas is available for installation. It is recommended that map series created with MPS-Atlas be moved to data driven pages. For more information, see Migrating an MPS-Atlas map book to Data Driven Pages.

An extent indicator can be added to display the extent of the basemap as a rectangle in the overview diagram.

Steps:

1. Start ArcMap.
2. Open Table of Contents window.
3. Right-click the overview diagram data frame and choose Properties.

   The Data Frame Properties dialog box appears.

4. Follow steps in Using extent indicators.
5. Click OK.
6. Click the MPS Atlas window button on the MPS Atlas toolbar.

   The MPS Atlas window appears.

7. Click the MPS Atlas window.
8. Right-click any map sheet and choose Set Current Map Sheet.

The extent indicator in the overview diagram automatically moves to where the map sheet you have selected is located.
