Using an extent indicator to display the selected area of interest

10.2.1 is the final release in which MPS-Atlas is available for installation. It is recommended that map series created with MPS-Atlas be moved to data driven pages. For more information, see Migrating an MPS-Atlas map book to Data Driven Pages.
An extent indicator can be added to display the extent of the basemap as a rectangle in the overview diagram.
Steps:
- Start ArcMap.
- Open Table of Contents window.
-
Right-click the overview diagram data frame and choose Properties.
The Data Frame Properties dialog box appears.
- Follow steps in Using extent indicators.
- Click OK.
- Click the MPS Atlas window button
on the MPS Atlas toolbar.
The MPS Atlas window appears.
- Click the MPS Atlas window.
- Right-click any map sheet and choose Set Current Map Sheet.
The extent indicator in the overview diagram automatically moves to where the map sheet you have selected is located.
