LAS Dataset toolbar—Surface display options
Display a LAS dataset as a TIN-based surface using the surface display drop-down menu on the LAS Dataset toolbar. Choose from several common surface-based symbology renderers. Once a selection is made, the changes will be applied to the LAS dataset listed in the active LAS dataset Layer drop-down menu.
Select from any of the following surface-based symbology renderers:
- Elevation
- Aspect
- Slope
- Contour

- The display renderers on the LAS Dataset toolbar will only show one renderer at a time. To display more than one renderer for a LAS dataset, consider using the Symbology tab located on the LAS dataset layer Properties dialog box. For more information on the Symbology tab, see LAS dataset layer properties in ArcMap.
- The surface renderers are intended for LAS files containing airborne lidar data only. If you are attempting to use the LAS dataset with terrestrial data, consider using point renderers only.
