00170: Maximum Size of Requests of the mosaic dataset must be greater than 4096 X 4096

When publishing a mosaic dataset as a cached map service, the cache may not be generated properly if the Maximum Size of Requests is set to a value less than 4096 x 4096. So, a higher value is recommended for an improved cache generation.

Solution

• Right-click the message and click Show Mosaic Dataset Properties Page.
• Change the number of rows and columns under Maximum Size of Requests to a value greater than 4096 for an improved cache.

Note:

Once you address the issue, click the Analyze button on the Service Editor dialog box to reanalyze the service.
