Removing slave features from a relationship (Maritime Charting)
If a slave feature no longer needs to participate in a relationship, you can remove it individually using the Relationship Manager tool.
- Start ArcMap.
- On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Editing.
- On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Nautical.
-
Click the Production Start Editing button on the Production Editing toolbar.
Note:
The Manage Features and Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes windows automatically appear when you start an edit session using the Production Start Editing tool.
Tip:If the Create Attributes, Update Attributes, or Metadata Attributes window does not appear when you start an edit session, click the Show/Hide Attributes button on the Manage Features window.
-
Click the Relationship Manager button on the Nautical toolbar.
The Relationship Manager window appears. It is blank by default.
- You can choose to customize your view. Go to Working with the Relationship Manager window for more information.
- Expand the Master/Slave(s) level to see available features.
-
Right-click the slave feature you want to remove and click Remove.
Removing a feature from a relationship does not delete it from the geodatabase. If the feature is collocated with the master, it will be added to the Potential Slaves list in the tree view.
Note:Upon removing the last slave feature in a relationship, a message appears informing you that the master-slave relationship will be deleted.
