About creating dimension feature classes

This topic applies to ArcGIS for Desktop Standard and ArcGIS for Desktop Advanced only.

NoteNote:

Although dimension classes can be both created and edited in ArcGIS for Desktop Advanced and Standard, they are read-only in Basic

Dimension features are stored in dimension feature classes in geodatabases. You can create them in ArcCatalog or the Catalog window.

When creating the new dimension feature class, you must create at least one dimension style. You can specify the properties of the style yourself or import the style from another dimension feature class, or the wizard can create a default style for you.

Once you have created a dimension feature class, you can use ArcCatalog or the Catalog window to create and import additional styles.
