Linking to web maps
One way to share a web map is to copy and paste a link into an e-mail or post a link on your Facebook page or Twitter account. The ArcGIS.com map viewer provides a short URL that you can use.
To link to a web map, follow the steps below.
Steps:
- Open a saved web map in the ArcGIS.com map viewer.
- Click the Share button to open the Share window.
- Share the map with your organization, everybody (public) or groups you belong to. You can only link to maps that are shared.
- Copy the URL that appears below Link to this map. You can paste it into an e-mail, instant message, and so on.
- Click the Facebook button to post the map to your Facebook page.
- Click the Twitter button to post the map to your Twitter account.
Note:
Your organization may restrict members from sharing items outside the organization. If this is the case, users and publishers won't see options to share content or groups with everybody (public). Administrators, however, can choose to share any item in the organization publicly.
Tip:
If your map includes an ArcGIS Explorer Online presentation, you will see an option to link to your map or presentation.
