Activating cascade master/slave deletes (Maritime Charting)
The edit extension will take two courses of action depending on the Cascade Master/Slave Deletes Activated property setting.
- If the property value is set to True during deletion of a master feature, all associated slave features will be automatically deleted without a warning message.
- If the property value is set to False, the default setting, a message appears and asks if you want to delete the associated slave features each time a master feature is deleted but not the associated slave features.
Note:
If you check the Don't show this dialog again check box in the warning message, the Cascade Master/Slave Deletes Activated property changes from False to True. As a result, when a master feature is deleted, the edit extension automatically deletes all associated slave features. The property can be manually changed back to False in the Production Properties dialog box.
Steps:
- Start ArcMap.
- On the main menu, click Customize > Production > Production Properties.
The Production Properties dialog box appears.
- Click Nautical Properties.
- Click the cell next to Cascade Master/Slave Deletes Activated.
-
Click the drop-down arrow and choose an option:
- True—All associated slave features will be automatically deleted without a warning message.
- False—A message appears and asks if you want to delete the associated slave features.
- Click OK.
