What's new in Task Assistant Manager
Task Assistant Manager contains several enhancements and usability improvements at 10.1.
General enhancements
- There is only one installation for Task Assistant Manager. You do not need to choose between a Task Assistant User and Task Designer install.
- You can now change between the designer and user modes through the Configuration Manager.
New tools
- On the Task Manager toolbar, the Workflow Properties tool
allows you to view basic properties for a workflow such as the file path, title, description, author, and when it was last saved.
- The Print Workflow Summary tool
on the Task Assistant window allows you to print a summary view of the workflows that are currently displayed in the Task Assistant window.
- The Execute Step is ON button at the bottom of the Task Assistant window allows you to control whether steps are executed or not when they are clicked. This provides a shortcut so you do not need to check the Execute Step(s) check box on the Properties tab.
New workflow management tools
- The Show Tooltips option on the Properties tab on the Task Assistant window allows you to choose whether or not the step descriptions are displayed in ToolTips when the mouse cursor is hovered over a step.
- There are two new options on the Designer tab that allow you to control the order in which steps are executed:
- The Lock Step After Execution option
locks a step after it is executed so it cannot be repeated.
- The Enforce Step Order in Workflow option
forces users to execute steps in the workflow from top to bottom. The steps cannot be executed out of order.
- The Lock Step After Execution option
- Workflow and map document associations can now be exported or imported through the Configuration Manager or the Associate MXDs with MXD dialog box.
- The Validate Results dialog box now shows errors and warnings if you are working with the designer mode, and allows you to disable warnings.
