Representing geostatistical layers as grids

When you represent geostatistical layers as grids, it is assumed that the prediction is for the center of each cell (point interpolation) or averaging for each cell (block interpolation).

Steps:
  1. Right-click the desired geostatistical layer in the ArcMap table of contents and click Properties.
  2. Click the Symbology tab.
  3. Click Grid in the Show list and check the accompanying check box.

The item that is highlighted in the Show list determines the options shown on the right side of the Symbology tab. For example, although Filled Contours may be checked in the Show list, hillshading options are shown because Hillshade is highlighted in the Show list.

  4. Set the desired parameters.
  5. Click OK.
TipTip:
To view two datasets at the same time, represent one as contours and superimpose it over the other filled contours, or make the geostatistical layer transparent.
