Representing geostatistical layers as filled contours
When you represent geostatistical layers as filled contours, it is assumed for the graphical display that the values between each contour line are the same for all locations within the polygon. You can choose to display the lines in either draft or presentation quality.
Steps:
- Right-click the desired geostatistical layer in the ArcMap table of contents and click Properties.
- Click the Symbology tab.
-
Click Filled Contours in the Show list and check the accompanying check box.
The item that is highlighted in the Show list determines the options shown on the right side of the Symbology tab. For example, although Filled Contours may be checked in the Show list, hillshading options are shown because Hillshade is highlighted in the Show list.
- Set the desired parameters.
- Click OK.
Tip:
To view two layers at the same time, represent one as contours and superimpose it over the other filled contours, or make the geostatistical layer transparent.
