Locator output properties

Write X and Y coordinates
Use this setting to create attributes in geocoded feature classes that contain the x,y coordinates of the geocoded features. With this setting, an address locator creates two attribute fields in the output feature class: one for the x-coordinate and one for the y-coordinate of the geocoded features. These attributes are not valid for an address if the address is not matched.
Write reference data ID field
Use this setting to create an attribute in a geocoded feature class that contains the ID of the reference feature to which an address was matched. This attribute is not valid for an address if the address is not matched.
Write percent along
Address locators that use reference data with line geometry can interpolate a position along the reference feature for a geocoded address. Use this setting to create an attribute in a geocoded feature class that contains the position along the reference feature to which the address was matched. The value of this attribute is a number between 0 and 100, with 0 indicating the starting node of the reference feature and 100 indicating the ending node of the reference feature. This attribute is not valid for an address if the address is not matched or is located on a reference feature that isn't a line.
Write user-specified additional output fields
Additional fields from the reference tables can be specified and added to a locator when you create the locator. These fields are used to provide additional information of the candidates. They do not participate in the score calculation.
Write locator-specific output fields
Some locator-specific fields added to the locator can be displayed when you geocode an address. These fields are used to provide additional information of the candidates. They do not participate in the score calculation.
Return display extent output fields
The bounding box of the geocoded feature includes the XMin and YMin and the XMax and YMax fields, indicating the southwest and northeast corners, respectively, of the extent. If these fields from the reference tables are specified and added to a locator when you create the locator, they can be displayed when you geocode an address.
Write elapsed time
The time it takes to geocode each record in the table of addresses. Use this setting to create an attribute in a geocoded feature class to show how much time elapsed during the matching of the address. The value of this attribute is a number whose unit is seconds. This attribute is not valid if the address is not matched.
Write score per component
The component score tracks how well each component of an address matches the components of a candidate address. A score of 100 indicates the components match perfectly; a score of 0 means the components don't match at all. Scores between 0 and 100 indicate that the component matches partially and the degree to which they match. This attribute is useful if an address does not find a perfect match and you want to learn which part of the address is causing the problem.
The score per component is an indicator of how well each component is matched. It does not serve as an actual value in the total score of the candidate, which is shown in the Score field. The component and total scores are calculated separately.
Although a default setting of the output options is saved in the locator when the locator is created, the setting can be modified on the Address Locator Properties dialog box, as described below.
- On the Address Locator Properties dialog box, expand the Outputs section.
- Find the option you want to change.
- Click the drop-down menu next to the option and click Yes to write the attribute or attributes in the output candidates of the geocoded feature class, or click No to exclude the attribute or attributes.
- Click OK to save the settings and close the dialog box.
