Searching for a street intersection
In many geocoding applications, the address of a location is not given as a number and street name, but as the intersection of two streets. When searching for a location, you can search based on the intersection of two line features.
Steps:
- Start ArcMap and add the Geocoding toolbar to the map.
- Select a street address locator available in the Manage Address Locator drop-down list.
-
Type the first street name; a space; an intersection connector, such as an ampersand (&) or at sign (@), as specified on the Address Locator Properties dialog box; another space; and finally, the second street you want to search in the Address Input text box.
An example is Taylor Way & Elvas Ave.
- Press ENTER.
If you prefer to use different intersection connectors to delimit the two part names, you can modify the address locator and edit the list of intersection connectors.
If the address is found, the text ToolTip displays the matched address, and the location of the intersection flashes.
