Serving the mosaic dataset

Once the mosaic dataset has been populated and modified to accommodate the Landscape Modeler application, you can create an image service.

Steps:
  1. Start ArcMap or ArcCatalog.
  2. Right-click the mosaic dataset and click Share As Image Service.

    The Publish a Service wizard appears.

  3. Choose the Publish as Service option.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Define the connection for the service.
  6. Type a name for the service in the Service name text box.

    The name cannot be more than 120 characters long and may contain only alphanumeric characters and underscores.

  7. Click Next.
  8. Choose the folder where the service will be published, or create a new folder.
  9. Click Continue.

    The Service Editor dialog box appears.

  10. Click Parameters in the pane on the left.
  11. Set the default resampling method to Nearest Neighbor.
  12. Click Catalog in the pane on the left.
  13. Add the Title, Url, OutputValues, InputRanges, and RangeLabels fields so they will be served.

  14. Click Functions in the pane on the left.
  15. Click Manage.

    The Manage Raster Function Templates dialog box appears.

  16. Add the weighted overlay raster function template (RFT) files.

    The RFT files can be found in the GitHub repository under the /arcgis/server folder at https://github.com/Esri/landscape-modeler-js/tree/master/arcgis/server.

  17. Click OK.
  18. Leave the default options and click Publish.
  19. Add the service to ArcMap to ensure it has published correctly.
