Viewing additional layer information
Before deciding whether or not to add a layer to the map, you can view a brief description to determine whether it is relevant to the analysis you want to perform. The description provides basic information about the layer's intended audience. For instance, suppose you want to see if the Critical Habitat layer is appropriate for the analysis you are performing. If you click the Info button next to the Critical Habitat layer, the description explains that it is intended to provide a general idea of where critical habitats occur.
Steps:
-
If necessary, click Select Layers.
The Select Layers properties appear.
-
Click the Info button next to the layer for which you want to view the description.
The layer description appears in a pop-up window.
Note:To view more detailed metadata about the layer, you can click the Read More link in the window.
