Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.2.x users

The Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.2.x setup package is designed to detect and upgrade an existing installation of Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.2 on the target system. The settings for the installation location, license manager (for concurrent use), or authorization information (for single use) are retained in the upgrade. After installation, any customizations, add-ons, or third-party applications installed for 10.2 might need to be reapplied. The installation folder will remain the same as it was for 10.2.

Concurrent- and single-use users

Your current 10.2 authorization will be preserved and reconfigured for 10.2.x use. For concurrent-use users, ensure the license manager you are connecting to is a 10.2 or 10.2.x license manager. You can run the ArcGIS Administrator after installation to change the license manager or any other required settings.

Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.1 users (including SP1)

The Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.2.x setup package is designed to detect and upgrade an existing installation of Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.1 (including SP1) on the target system. The installation location within the ArcGIS parent folder is retained, although the upgrade is installed to a 10.2 folder.

Concurrent and single-use users

Your 10.1 authorization will be preserved and reconfigured for 10.2.x use during the ArcGIS 10.2.x upgrade.

Do I need to uninstall Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.1 (including SP1) before installing Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.2.x?

No. If you already have Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.1 installed, the setup will automatically upgrade it to Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.2.x. Additionally, you can install Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.2.x without having an earlier release of Mapping and Charting Solutions installed on your machine.

Can I run Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.1 products on the same machine?

No. This setup will upgrade Mapping and Charting Solutions 10.1 to 10.2.x on the target machine.
