Prerequisites for installing ArcGIS Spatial Data Server for IIS
ArcGIS Spatial Data Server for IIS requires certain operating system and software components. If these components are not found, the ArcGIS Spatial Data Server for IIS installation will not proceed. This topic details the prerequisites that must be met before installing ArcGIS Spatial Data Server for IIS.

Items listed with an X beside them must be corrected before the installation will proceed. Follow the instructions below to ensure your system meets the minimum installation requirements.
64-bit processor
32-bit operating systems are not supported. The ArcGIS Spatial Data Server for IIS setup will only proceed if the operating system is 64-bit.
Operating system

The operating systems below satisfy the minimum operating system requirements:
- Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 Standard, Enterprise, and Datacenter 64-bit (EM64T)
- Windows Server 2008 Standard, Enterprise, and Datacenter 64-bit (EM64T)
- Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, Enterprise, and Datacenter 64-bit (EM64T)
- Windows 7 Ultimate, Professional Edition 64-bit (EM64T)
- Windows Vista Service Pack 2 Ultimate, Enterprise, Business 64-bit (EM64T)
- Windows XP Service Pack 2 Professional Edition 64-bit (EM64T)
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
ArcGIS Spatial Data Server for IIS requires Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 (SP1), available on the ArcGIS for Server media. However, on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 must be installed using Windows Features. Follow the instructions below to install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2:
Windows 7:
Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows Features on or off. Enable and install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1.
Windows Server 2008 R2:
Open Server Manager > Features > Add Features. Enable and install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1.
Microsoft SQL Server System CLR Types
ArcGIS Spatial Data Server for IIS requires Microsoft SQL Server System CLR Types. The ArcGIS Spatial Data Server for IIS setup automatically installs SQL Server System CLR Types as part of the installation process.
Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 or higher
ArcGIS Spatial Data Server for IIS requires IIS be installed and specific IIS components enabled. Supported versions are 6.0, 7.0, and 7.5. The ArcGIS Spatial Data Server for IIS setup will not proceed if IIS is not detected and specific IIS components enabled. Follow the instructions below to install Microsoft IIS:
Windows Server 2003:
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components. Enable and install the Application Server component.
Windows Vista and Windows 7:

Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2:

Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) components
Certain IIS components are required on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2. The ArcGIS Web Adaptor (IIS) setup will not proceed if these components are not detected.
Windows Vista and Windows 7:
