Obtaining an authorization file

Each machine with an installation of ArcGIS for Server requires an authorization file. There are several ways to register ArcGIS for Server. You can visit the Esri Customer Care Portal to obtain an authorization file (by e-mail, fax, phone, or mail) before proceeding with the installation. You can also register ArcGIS for Server using the Software Authorization Wizard that launches after the setup installation completes (this is the recommended method).

Registration requires the registration numbers (similar in format to ABC123456789) provided by Customer Service. Visit the Esri Customer Care Portal for more information.
