Installing ArcGIS GeoEvent Processor for Server silently

ArcGIS GeoEvent Processor for Server can be installed without a user interface by running the msiexec.exe command. This will require you to manually authorize the software. The steps below will guide you through authorizing ArcGIS GeoEvent Processor for Server and installing silently.

Installation prerequisites include the following:

Steps:
  1. Start the Software Authorization Wizard from the ArcGIS 10.2.x for Server program group located at Start > All Programs > ArcGIS > ArcGIS 10.2.x for Server > Software Authorization.
The Software Authorization Wizard dialog box appears.
  2. Choose the I have received an authorization file from Esri and am now ready to finish the authorization process option.
  3. Click Browse and navigate to the location of the authorization file in the Open Authorization File dialog box.
  4. Select the authorization file and click Open.
  5. Click Next.

The Software Authorization Wizard appears with a notification that the authorization of ArcGIS GeoEvent Processor for Server is complete.

  6. Click Finish.
  7. Open a command prompt.
  8. Execute the following command:
<path to ArcGIS GeoEvent Processor for Server setup>\setup.exe /qb PASSWORD=<arcgis server account password>
    NoteNote:

You will have to add a parameter for the ArcGIS System account that will be used for the service configuration.

    For example:

    \\machinename\ArcGIS_GeoEventProcessor_for_Server\setup.exe /qb PASSWORD=my.arcgis.server.password
    NoteNote:

The silent install will fail if the password is incorrect or not provided. However, if ArcGIS for Server is running on a system service account (for example, Local System), you will not have to provide a password.

    NoteNote:

If you install ArcGIS GeoEvent Processor for Server silently before authorizing it, then you will still have to manually authorize it using the same steps outlined above. This will also require you to start the ArcGIS GeoEvent Processor service using the Windows Services console.

Proceed to Optional: Marking the self-signed GeoEvent Processor for Server certificate as trusted.
