Report Feature widget

December 2012

The Report Feature widget allows you to select existing or create new features and submit them to a Reviewer workspace. This functionality enables redlining, manual quality control, or volunteered geographic information workflows by allowing an audience without GIS expertise to flag data for review.

Deploying the Report Feature widget

Application Builder provides the simplest way to deploy the Report Feature widget. The following steps detail how to deploy the Report Feature widget to an ArcGIS Viewer for Flex site. You must download the Data Reviewer widgets before following these steps.

Working with the Report Feature widget

The Report Feature widget works in two modes: Select and Draw. Select allows you to select an existing feature in an ArcGIS Server dynamic layer and submit it for review to a Reviewer workspace. Draw allows you to digitize a new point, line, or polygon feature and submit it for review to a Reviewer workspace. Both modes allow you to add information to the record before you submit it to a Reviewer workspace.

Select mode

  1. In your ArcGIS Viewer for Flex web application, click the Report Feature widget button on the toolbar at the top of the web page.
  2. Pan and zoom to a dynamic layer feature you want to submit to your Reviewer workspace.
  3. Click Select.
  4. Click a layer in the Choose a Layer list.
